'All about my mother'
Music OMH:
As Esteban, Colin Morgan, provides the haunting heart of the play.
This Is London
It is Adamson's brilliant conceit that Manuela's teenage son, Esteban [...] should not vanish from the scene, as he does in Almodvar's film. Instead, played with jaunty pathos by this year's outstanding theatrical discovery, Colin Morgan, he haunts the play and his mother to devastating emotional effect.
Culture Wars:
The changes that have been made don’t add much {...} This does not work and is justified only in that it gives hot young newcomer Colin Morgan (Vernon God Little) more to do.

Reviews:
The Guardian:
Sean Chapman's surly dignity as the gay Vietnam vet is neatly offset by the flaky angelic charm of Colin Morgan as his catamite.
Variety:
Marsh gives a surprisingly strained perf as Kelly, coming across initially as a parody of the emotionally constipated tough guy. Far more impressive are rising star Morgan, who sustains a remarkable level of twitchy intensity; and Johnson, who gives a strong perf as a good man hobbled by addictions and weaknesses.
The British Theatre Guide:
That leaves Colin Morgan, horrifyingly realistic as Jimmy, a Latino junkie heading for an early grave but filled with weird inexplicable charm and courage. [...] Colin Morgan creates the richest character, following up the positive impression that he made in a similar role at the same theatre in Vernon God Little.
Telegraph.co.uk:
Colin Morgan is excellent, too, as the scrawny young smack addict who might be a killer, but despite heroic performances, neither Johnson's junkie cop nor Sean Chapman's traumatised psycho of a Vietnam vet add up as persuasive characters.
What's on Stage.co.uk:
The acting is fine, however, and Colin Morgan, returning to the Young Vic after his brilliant debut in last year’s Vernon God Little, is especially impressive as the jittery Jimmy. Yet neither he, nor Matthew Marsh and Corey Johnson’s flawed lawmen, nor Sean Chapman’s Vietnam vet turned criminal, can prevent Babe’s divagations about American manhood from sounding portentous and sentimental.
Glitterditch:
We loved Colin Morgan's character. He stole the show for us (and not because he was naked for part of the second act.) He plays Jimmy, a young drug addict who's clearly losing the plot. To the point where it's uncomfortable to watch. He's the strongest character by far. We'd recommend the show on Morgan's performance alone.
London Evening Standard:
If this were a film, Colin Morgan would be a shoo-in for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, with his twitchily brilliant turn as junkie Jimmy, a youth dripping with curdled innocence.
London Theatre:
Colin Morgan as Jimmy is both hilarious and terrifying as a quivering junkie whose youth and innocence is starting to turn sour. Although he started off to a shaky start he ended up stealing the show, I couldn’t keep my eyes off him.
Official London Theatre:
Colin Morgan returns to the Young Vic, where he made his stage debut in Vernon God Little, delivering a twitchy, cheek-chewing, squinty-eyed, head-squirming Hispanic junkie. It is an attention-grabbing performance contrasted with Sean Chapman’s measured, calm, precise fellow con, a Vietnam vet irrevocably changed by the experience.
Times Online
Morgan deserves praise for managing Jimmy’s smacked-out Hispanic gargle without it slumping into farce.
